Bad news from Hua Hin, where Corban Crowther has been taken ill during his first round qualifying match against Nuno van Os and had to retire. Crowther won the first four games, with van Os hitting three double faults in the second and another in the fourth, but Crowther got broken to love in the next game when he served three double faults of his own.
He did break again in what became the last game of the set, which lasted for 30 minutes. All four games in the second set went with serve before Crowther became too ill to continue, the final score being 6-2, 2-2. They were on court for 54 minutes.
