Left-hander Marketa Vondroušová is a former Wimbledon singles champion and also pretty useful at doubles, while her partner for the US Open in Miriam Škoch sits comfortably inside the top 100 in doubles as well.  They’re not a regular doubles combination, though, and on paper they shouldn’t really have posed too much of a threat…
