Matt Donald will be disappointed that his first tournament as a singles seed has ended before he got to the round where the seeding indicated he should finish.  He started tonight’s second round match against Etienne Donnet in Monastir with two double faults, and never recovered.  He lost that first game before winning his next two to love, and then got broken again after having a game point.  Donnet capped off a good first half of the match by breaking to love to end the set after 36 minutes.

If the first set had been poor, the second was disastrous for Donald.  He didn’t even get close to a game point on his own serve, let alone a break point, and Donnet cruised through the bagel to finish the match after an hour and six minutes.  The final score was 6-3, 6-0.
