James Watt and Matt Hulme have been extremely consistent as a doubles pair through this year, with their rankings improving by hundreds of places, and their efforts were rewarded when they beat Joshua Charlton and Blake Ellis in the doubles final of the first Cairns tournament last night. It’s a repeat of their performance against the same pair in Traralgon last February, although this time they needed a match tie-break before they went on to win 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-7. It’s Watt’s third doubles title.
