In the same way that the women had their wild card play-off for the ASB Classic at Stanley Street, the men have done the same in the far more picturesque surroundings of Te Anau, although at least part of the programme had to be moved indoors. The difference was that eight men were competing for glory in the Te Anau Invitational, with $25,000 at stake.  Kiranpal Pannu has come out on top, beating Jack Loutit in the final, and gains a main draw wild card like he did a year ago. Loutit will head to the qualifying draw for his first match at this level.
