Enrique Bianchini Bogo and Hernando Jose Escurra Isnardi started their doubles semi-final against Finn Reynolds and Jesse Flores in Alcala de Henares by getting broken to love, whoever served sending down double faults on both his forays into the deuce court. His partner served one as well as they got broken from 40-30 in the third game, with Reynolds and Flores holding comfortably to consolidate the double break lead.
The remaining games in the set went with serve, although Bianchini Bogo and Escurra Isnardi had to save a set point when taken to deuce in the seventh game. Reynolds and Flores lost just their next set point when serving out in the following game, the set taking 28 minutes.
There was just one deuce in the second set, that coming in the fifth game after the second seeds saved the first three game points from 40-0, but Reynolds and Flores broke to love in the ninth game before serving out the match at the second attempt after an hour and six minutes. The final score was 6-2, 6-4. Tomorrow morning’s final is against the top seeds, George Houghton and Hamish Stewart from Great Britain.
