Just like in Ajeet Rai’s match, there was only one deuce when Alex Klintcharov and Zaharije-Zak Talic played Joshua Charlton and Emile Hudd in their doubles quarter-final in Brisbane tonight.  The difference was that breaks of serve didn’t need to utilise the seven available points in every game, with the fourth seeds breaking to love when Klintcharov and Talic served for the second time.  Charlton and Hudd lost only three points in their remaining service games, and broke Klintcharov and Talic again to end the set after 25 minutes.

Apart from that one deuce, which came in the sixth game and was decided by an ace, games went with serve all the way until Klintcharov and Talic needed to hold serve to force a tie-break.  They were up 30-15, but lost the next three points to see the match go to Charlton and Hudd.  The final score was 6-3, 7-5, and the match took an hour and four minutes.
